Sonik Sports photographic assignment...

Being an avid fly fisherman and fly tyer I find it an absolute pleasure to actually to be commissioned for fly fishing assignments. One such assignment was Sonik Sports.
This was a brand new company emerging into an ever competitive fly fishing marketplace, so everything had to be planned on paper before any images where taken. The brief was agreed between us all and I shot all the studio shots at Sonik's offices, were luckily they had a big warehouse area where I set up a studio. The lighting was quite tricky as the final images needed to look like they where shot on location, so the products had to be lit to suit masking in backgrounds with photoshop of rivers and landscapes etc when I arrived back in my studio. Needless to say, like most clients, the images have to be back with the client asap, because they have to meet deadlines with magazine advertising, and Sonik had booked a lot of them.

Since these initial images where shot, I have also shot extra assignments like the sea fishing rods and many studio product style shots. The sea rod images where taken at Spurn Point. A fantastic location with great light.

My next assignment with Sonik is taking me to Slovenia where the location is perfect with wide gin clear rivers and mountainous backdrops and, guaranteed perfect whether and light conditions.
See many of the final images on the Sonik Sports website.
